National Commission for the Simplification and Digitalization of Transport and Logistics held its first meeting in 2021

The National Commission for the Simplification and Digitalization of Transport and Logistics (CNDT), chaired by DGRM, held its first 2021 working meeting, in which the main challenges facing the transport and logistics sectors were presented and discussed, with a great focus on maritime transport, ports and land transport. The process of implementing the new “European Maritime Single Windown” Regulation, delegated acts and implementing the new Community Customs Code, the new eFTI Regulation for other means of transport and the new legislation meanwhile published, requires a great deal of implementation effort , with the participation of all public and private entities.

The main strategic areas for the evolution of digitalization were also discussed, through six strategic lines of action, aimed at responding to the challenges that Portugal will have to meet, and also the opportunities and advantages that technological evolution and innovation may bring to the sectors. logistics and transport in particular. The CNDT's mission is to ensure the harmonization, simplification and promotion of the digitalization of procedures at national level, as well as to ensure the permanent monitoring of the implementation of the JUL, so this session made it possible to analyze the challenges mentioned and address the necessary work, namely through specialized working groups.
