Considering the current data of the discharges made by the Portuguese fleet, of plaice (Pleuronectes platessa) captured in zones 8, 9, 10 and Union waters of zone CECAF34.1.1., with code PLE / 8/3411, we inform that the fishing quota allocated to Portugal has been exhausted.

In this context, and in compliance with point 2 of article 35 of Regulation (EU) No. 1224/2009, of 20 November, fishing of the above-mentioned species is prohibited in the aforementioned areas, starting at 00:00 on the 29th March, as well as the maintenance on board, transhipment and unloading of the catches made, with the exception of the provisions of Article 15 of Regulation (EU) No. 1380/2013, of 11 December. In the case of accidental capture, the specimens must be brought ashore and unloaded and cannot be sold or used for human consumption, however they are deducted from the national quota.
