The DGRM, through the Subdirector General Susana Baptista, participated in the International Conference on Maritime Security, which took place on April 22nd. The Conference, which gathered over 250 participants via web, was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the PPUE and was supported by EMSA - European Maritime Safety Agency.  

DGRM was responsible for the moderation of the first panel, under the theme "International Cooperation in Maritime Security", having been addressed issues such as the importance of the work developed by EMSA with other organizations in the field of maritime safety and security (Frontex, MAOC-N, EU NAVFOR Atalanta and Irini, EFCA, EUROPOL, UNODC), as well as the relationship between maritime security and sustainable development, in the light of the United Nations Conference on Oceans 2022.  It was also possible to learn about the activity of the Maritime Geospatial, Meteorological, and Oceanographic Centre of Excellence, which is in the process of accreditation by NATO.
