Bearing in mind that birds may become trapped in nets protecting aquaculture tanks and floating structures (surface cages), it is recommended that protective nets made of dark coloured multifilament material (e.g. black) with a mesh size no greater than 7 cm be used. Under no circumstances should colourless monofilament nylon nets be used.
