Angola's Secretary of State for Fisheries visits Portugal

The Secretary of State for Fisheries of Angola, Esperança Eduardo da Costa, was received by the national approval Teresa Coelho, having discussed the prospects for greater cooperation in various areas related to the sea, followed by a set of visits to institutions and companies related to fisheries in Lisbon, Nazaré and Peniche.

The DGRM, through its Director-General, José Simão, together with representatives from IPMA and Docapesca, was part of the reception of the Angolan delegation, having accompanied the visits to companies in the fishing, shipbuilding, research centres and associated industries.

Relations between Portugal and Angola are already quite intense but there are still very important opportunities to deepen cooperation in terms of scientific knowledge of the sea, procedures, shipbuilding and ship repair and the planning and management of natural resources.

The historical and cultural relations between the two countries facilitate cooperation between the two departments and will permit the deepening of knowledge sharing and modernisation of the sectors in both geographic areas.
