€875,000 were made available for seafarers' scholarships in the officer class, for boarding practitioners, in order to obtain the respective certificates of competence of merchant marine officer, this amount having been sponsored by Fundo Azul.

The development of maritime transport and ports is closely linked to the training of senior staff for maritime areas and its sustainability depends on the ability to continue to attract a sufficient number of new quality seafarers, so this scholarship is an essential instrument for this effect.
