DGRM reinforces its staff with 15 new workers

On April 1, 2022, DGRM welcomed 15 workers to reinforce its internal inspection and administrative teams. During the reception, José Carlos Simão, Director General, welcomed and made presentations, reinforcing the importance of each one for the fulfillment of the mission of this Directorate-General, with particular emphasis on the Inspection group.

Most of the newcomers, 13, aim to strengthen inspection teams, namely to participate in inspection, control and surveillance of fishing and aquaculture activities. They will now begin a period of theoretical and theoretical-practical training, with a view to understanding and applying the rules inherent to the Common Fisheries Policy and good governance of the ocean.

The areas of management and preservation of marine natural resources and communication are also reinforced.

DGRM's mission is the development of maritime security and services, including the maritime-port sector, the implementation of fisheries, aquaculture, manufacturing and related activities policies, the preservation and knowledge of marine resources, as well as ensuring the regulation and control of activities carried out in these areas.
