Creation of an exceptional and temporary regime for fishing professionals in response to the increased production of armed conflict in Ukraine

An exceptional and temporary compensation scheme was created for fishing professionals for the increase in production costs caused by the armed conflict in Ukraine.

This exceptional regime, published by Decree-Law 30-C/2022, is intended for professionals with a title that confers the right to operate a fishing vessel, registered in the mainland and licensed to carry out the activity in 2022.

Professionals who cumulatively meet the following conditions can apply:

a) Have their contributory and tax situation regularized before, respectively, social security and the Tax and Customs Authority;

b) Have proven activity between February 24 and June 30, 2022, for a minimum of 20 days of activity, consecutive or interpolated, confirmed by the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Security and Maritime Services (DGRM);

c) Keep the active activity license during the compensation period.

The application can be submitted through the Balcão Eletrônico do Mar (www.BMar.pt), requesting an application “Fishing Vessels - Exceptional Regime (DL 30-C/2022)” in the category of “Funds and Subsidies” until 30 June of 2022.
