On September 19, 2022, at the DGRM Auditorium, took place the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Escola Superior Náutica Infante D. Henrique, Professor Vitor Manuel dos Reis Franco Correia.

The Secretary of State for the Sea, José Maria Costa, presided over the solemn session, together with the President of the General Council of ENIDH, Rui Raposo, and with the Vice-President of the Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes, Jorge Conde.

DGRM was present at the ceremony through its Director General, José Carlos Simão, and its Director of Maritime Administration Services, Paulo Pamplona.

In his inauguration speech, Vitor Manuel Correia mentioned the longevity of the School, which, in 2024, will complete 100 years, thus constituting an important legacy. He affirmed his commitment to continue the Institution's long history in the pursuit of its mission. Aware of the challenges, he was attentive in seeking answers to face climate change, which is revolutionizing maritime transport and ports, with the aim of achieving the goals proposed by the EU, for 2030, and equally, the emergence of technology 4.0. on ships, this being a huge potential for the entire maritime industry.

DGRM thanks the outgoing President, Luis Baptista, for all the cooperation and wishes the new President a good term.
