DGRM's Director of Inspection, Monitoring and Control Services for Maritime Activities, Carlos Ferreira, was present at the Seminar on the Sea and Fisheries Control that took place in Madeira.

The event started under the chairmanship of the Regional Secretary for Sea and Fisheries, Teófilo Cunha, with DGRM participating in the opening ceremony and in the technical debate. The Seminar was closed by the Secretary of State for Fisheries, Teresa Coelho, who then participated in the opening of the sea and fisherman's fair.

In the technical aspects where DGRM participated together with the two Regional Directorates and EFCA, the national model SIFICAP for the control and inspection of fisheries and its good results was highlighted. Challenges for the future were also discussed, which should be addressed through integrated solutions and developments between the continent and the two autonomous regions.
