DGRM is part of the delegation of the Secretary of State for the Sea at the United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP27), through its Director-General, José Carlos Dias Simão, which is taking place until November 18, in Sharm El Sheikh, in Egypt.

On the first day of participation, meetings were held with various entities, including the Ministry of Transport of Egypt, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport of Japan, the Suez Canal Economic Zone, Mitsubishi Power and several other delegations and associations.

Investments in green energies such as Hydrogen and Ammonia, in oceanic renewable energies, in decarbonisation, green shipping and emissions reduction projects were topics under discussion for new initiatives within the scope of the Sustainable Blue Economy.

The participation of the US leader, Joe Biden, at COP27, was marked by the reference to his ambitious plan against Climate Change, stating that a good climate policy is a good economic policy.
