Considering the catch data for alfonsinos (Beryx spp.) recently established, it appears that there is a remaining unused quota allocated to vessels registered in mainland ports, allowing the reopening of the directed fishery for alfonsinos in Union and international waters of ICES subareas 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12 and 14.

Vessels registered in mainland ports are hereby informed that directed fishing for the stock in question is reopened with effect from 00.00 hours on 8 December, although, given the limited quota available, the definitive closure of that quota is expected in the short term.
