European Commission audits Portuguese Maritime Administration and the Port of Lisbon

The Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Safety and Maritime Services (DGRM) informs that, in the week of 12 to 16 December, the European Commission carried out an audit of the Portuguese Maritime Administration - Competent Authority for the Protection of Maritime Transport and Ports and to the Port of Lisbon.

The objective of the audit was to analyze the measures implemented for the Protection of Maritime Transport and Ports, through the monitoring of Directive 2005/65/EC in the Port of Lisbon and the monitoring of Regulation 725/2004 by the Port Facilities in that port, as well as like the ships that dock there.

Thus, the national team of inspectors, led by the inspection coordinator Rui Serafim, accompanied the audit carried out at the Port of Lisbon and some of the Port Installations at the Port of Lisbon, with the European Commission pointing out some positive points and other opportunities for improvement, having DGRM is committed to continuing to work to take Maritime Transport Protection towards Bom Porto.
