Considering the current level of landings of swordfish - northern stock (Xiphias gladius) made by the Portuguese fleet in the Atlantic Ocean, north of 5.N, the fishing quota allocated to Portugal has been exhausted.

Therefore, please be informed that, pursuant to Article 35(2) of Regulation (EU) No 1224/2009 of 20 November, fishing for the above-mentioned species is hereby prohibited as from 00:00 hours on 30 December in the aforementioned area.
