In compliance with Article 34 (a) of Regulation (EC) No 1224/2009 of 20 November 2009, and considering the data of bycatch made by the Portuguese fleet of bluefin tuna (Thunnus thynnus) in the Atlantic Ocean, east of 45ºW, and Mediterranean, it is reported that the use of this quota has reached 80%, and it may be necessary very soon, to close the by-catch.
