The Portuguese Maritime Administration informs that:

From 1st January 2026, Basic Safety Certificates will only be issued or recognized if accompanied by the respective documentation confirming training in “Prevention and response to violence and harassment, including sexual harassment, bullying and sexual assault”, in accordance with Resolution MSC.560(108) (Module A-VI/1-4).

Holders of a valid Basic Safety Certificate issued before 1st January 2026 may complete the aforementioned training when renewing their certificate.
