The call for applications to join the EU Industrial Maritime Value Chains Alliance, launched in the context of the EU Industrial Maritime Strategy, is now open.

The Alliance aims to bring together maritime manufacturers, shipowners and other downstream users, Member States and their regions, investors and social partners, fostering industrial collaboration, investment and the development of concrete projects to strengthen the competitiveness, sustainability and resilience of the European maritime industrial base.

Among the ‘lead markets’ identified in the Alliance’s Terms of Reference is maritime circularity, encompassing automated, sustainable, industrial-scale ship recycling, the secondary metals value chain, and synergies between steelmaking, shipbuilding, ship dismantling and recycling.

Organisations and other stakeholders involved in ship recycling and across the different stages of the related value chain are therefore encouraged to consider joining the Alliance and contributing to its work.

The call for applications will remain continuously open, with a first cut-off deadline of 16 October 2026.
