Chartering of fishing vessels

Nationals to operate in third country, international or other EM waters

At any time of the year.

Owners of vessels registered in the national fishing fleet (Freadores).

The request is made through the form, available at "Execute Service", and can be delivered to the Directorate-General for Natural Resources, Security and Maritime Services (DGRM), by hand, via CTT or by email to: mail.df@dgrm.mm.gov.pt.

  • Draft Charter Agreement agreed between the parties;
  • Identification document, where the signature of the charterer can be proven(*);
  • Permanent Certificate (or access code) of the charterer (legal person);
  • Charter authorization document with indication of the operating zone, species and quantities authorized within the scope of the charter, issued by the official entity of the country (third party) or of the Member State where the vessel will operate;
  • Document proving that catches of species subject to quota are deducted from the fishing quota of the chartering country/Member State.

(*) To be sent only in case it is impossible to visit our services in person to prove the same.
Documents in a foreign language must be translated into Portuguese by a duly certified translator.

No cost to the applicant. The duration of the charter is established under the Charter Contract.
