Amendment of Pleasure Craft Registration

Whenever you want to make a change to your pleasure craft. (CHANGE OF REGISTRATION)

Change of:
- Name of the vessel;
- Property;
- Motorization (replacement, attachment or detachment of motor)
- Navigation Zone;
- Capacity;
- Hull color / Superstructure


*This order only applies to Vessels to be sailed.
If the vessel in question is not yet registered, you must submit a request of the type "First Registration of a Pleasure Craft"

The recreational boat owner or his legal representative (service providers, associations)

The application is submitted online through the Balcão Eletrônico do Mar (BMar):

1. Access www.bmar.pt, register and authenticate.
2. Go to New Order, select the Order Category "Vessels" and the Order Type "Change of Registration of Pleasure Craft".
3. Fill in the required data.
4. Using the "Get Forms" function, you can download the application template.
5. If you also want to replace / attach / detach an engine, fill in the text field provided for this purpose.
6. Insert, in the field for attachments, the duly completed form and other required attachments.
7. Check the information and submit your request

Changing the vessel's name

Change of ownership

• Pre-Registration Form (Registration Change Form)
• Demonstration of ownership (examples: purchase and sale agreement; discharge document; purchase invoice or equivalent document)
• Previous booklet
 

Engine Change (Includes replacement, attachment and detachment)

• Pre-Registration Form (Registration Change Form)
• EU Declaration of Conformity (of the vessel) or
• Builder's or approval certificate (if vessel not covered by any directive)
• Booklet or equivalent document that demonstrates ownership
• Document proving the respective purchase, indicating the make, model, power and serial number.
• Certificate proving the detachment of the engine from the previous vessel (if you intend to attach an engine that has already been used on another vessel)
Requirement M-DSAM-46 - IGN68 (applicable to inboard engines)


Changing the Navigation Zone

• Pre-Registration Form (Registration Change Form)
• Booklet or equivalent document that demonstrates ownership
• EU Declaration of Conformity or
• Builder's or approval certificate (if vessel not covered by any directive)
It must also indicate which entity is intended to carry out the periodic inspection, unless it has already been carried out.


Hull/superstructure color change

• Pre-Registration Form (Registration Change Form)
• Booklet or equivalent document that demonstrates ownership
 

Capacity change

• Pre-Registration Form (Registration Change Form)
• Booklet or equivalent document that demonstrates ownership
• EU Declaration of Conformity (of the vessel) or
• Builder's or approval certificate (if vessel not covered by any directive)
If it does not exist, you must submit a modification process to increase the capacity.

Other elements may be requested during the analysis of the request.

Modification License - € 36.6
In the case of ER type 1, 2 or 3, the costs of the Technical Information for registration are added and if the change needs verification, the cost of the Inspection is added according to the length and activity of the ER.

In the case of type 4 and 5 REs, inspections are scheduled with the Captaincy

The costs of altering the Registration with the Local Body of the Maritime Authority are added.
