First Recreational Craft Registration

Whenever you want to re-register a Pleasure Craft.

Applies to:
- New vessels
- Vessels from registration in other flags (imports)
- Vessels coming from registration in inland waters (ARH TEJO)
- Vessels from ABN (Former Naval Brigade)

The recreational boat owner or his legal representative (service providers, associations...)

The application is submitted online through the Balcão Eletrônico do Mar (BMar):

1.  Access www.bmar.pt, register and authenticate;
2.  Click on New Order, select the Order Category "Vessels" and the Order Type "1st Recreational Craft Registration";
3.  Fill in field 2, the data relating to the applicant and holder of the order (The holder of the order must be the owner of the vessel);
4.  Fill in field 3 all the information about the vessel you want to register;
5.  Insert, in the field 4. intended for attachments, the requested documents;
6.  Verify the information and submit your request;

After submission, all information or notifications about the order will be sent to the email address indicated.

The proof of submission of the request is not valid to continue the process with the Registry Office.
You must wait for the notification of approval.

Order holder:

- If the request is submitted by a third party as a representative of the owner of the RE: Declaration or power of attorney from the holder

Type 4 or 5 vessel

• Demonstration of ownership (examples: purchase and sale agreement; discharge document; purchase invoice or equivalent document)
• EU Declaration of Conformity or
• Builder's or approval certificate (if vessel not covered by any directive);

Type 1, 2 or 3 vessel

• Demonstration of ownership (examples: purchase and sale agreement; discharge document; purchase invoice or equivalent document)
• EU Declaration of Conformity or
• Builder's or approval certificate (if vessel not covered by any directive). In this situation add:
• Catalog or 3 photographs in different planes;
• Copy of the part of the vessel's manual that contains the characteristics of the vessel.


To the documents indicated above, others may be added, in the following cases:

Vessel coming from a foreign country or registered in inland waters

• Declaration of Cancellation of Registration, within 6 months (not mandatory);
• If coming from a third country by its owner, customs declaration proving customs clearance (not mandatory);

Vessel with used engine (engine that has already been used on another vessel)

• Certificate proving the detachment of the engine from the previous vessel (mandatory);
• Document proving the respective purchase (mandatory)


Vessel whose engine is new and outboard

• Engine compliance certificate (not mandatory);

Other elements may be requested during the analysis of the request.

 

Costs vary with the type of RE and its configuration. Thus, with the powers and responsibilities of the Organs involved:

- Radioelectric assignment for ER 1,2,3, and 4

- Surveys for Maritime-Touristic Activity, if there is an open activity.

- Inspections for ER that do not have a Declaration of Conformity according to Regulation 2013/EU/53

- Technical Information for Registration - All types with validation of the Name and indication of the Registration Number

Surveys for ER 1,2,3 are carried out at DGRM and the rest at the Local Maritime Authority Body.

To these are added the registration fees charged at the Local Maritime Authority Body
